Does the University provide specialized disability training?

Students that register have access to the following training:
a. Orientation and Mobility Training for blind and partially sighted students which includes:
i. Mobility Skills Training
ii. Orientation to the built environment
iii. Skills of Daily Living
b. Computer Training for Blind and partially sighted student in screen reading and screen magnification software use.
c. Sign Language Services are provided to Deaf persons using South African Sign Language

(based on availability of SASL interpreters).
d. Support provided to mobility-impaired students that need way-finding to navigate to accessible routes on and off campus.
e. A transport service through adapted vehicles is available on the Durban and Pietermaritzburg campuses. These vehicles are fitted with lifts for wheelchair users.
