Accommodation is not automatically guaranteed. UKZN offers two options: on-campus residences (university-owned) and off-campus private accommodation. If you wish to stay in a university residence, you must indicate this on your study application. Alternatively, you may choose private accommodation nearby, many within walking distance of campus. The Department of Student Residence Affairs (DSRA) provides a list of UKZN-registered private providers, which you can request, and the International Office can also assist. Please note: University residences close during vacation periods (students must vacate or pay a holiday rate), while private accommodation remains open year-round.
