My study permit is still valid, but I have completed my studies, can I still remain in SA and work?

If you are in South Africa (SA) on a study permit, you are allowed to remain legally in the country only for the purpose of studying. Once you have completed your studies, the conditions of your permit are no longer met. This means you cannot simply continue staying or working on the same study permit. If you wish to work, you need to apply for a work visa.
